Your Milcayac Dogo

At Milcayac Dogos, our mission is to preserve the Dogo Argentino through responsible breeding, authentic Argentine bloodlines, and careful placement with knowledgeable owners. Our international breeding program operates in Argentina and Canada, allowing us to work closely with the breed’s country of origin while making our dogs available to families and working homes across North America, including the United States.
We produce a limited number of litters each year, focusing on strong structure, stable temperament, and the natural working ability that defines the Dogo Argentino.

Our goal is simple: to breed Dogos that represent the breed as it was originally intended — powerful, athletic, intelligent, and loyal companions capable of both family life and serious work in the field.

Authentic Argentine Bloodlines

The Dogo Argentino was developed in Argentina as a big game hunting dog, capable of working in packs to pursue wild boar and puma while maintaining stability and loyalty with its family.
Our breeding program maintains a strong connection to authentic Argentine bloodlines, selecting dogs that demonstrate:
• strong nerves and stable temperament
• proper structure and athletic ability
• strong prey drive and working instinct
• excellent health and longevity
By maintaining our breeding program in Argentina and Canada, we are able to work with some of the best dogs available while making these bloodlines accessible to serious owners in the United States and Canada.

Health and Screening

Health and soundness are fundamental to our program. All breeding dogs are carefully selected and screened to ensure they meet the standards expected of a serious preservation program.
Depending on the individual dog, testing and evaluations may include:
• BAER hearing testing
• veterinary health examinations
• structural evaluation
• temperament assessment
• pedigree analysis
Our goal is to produce dogs that are physically capable, mentally stable, and representative of the Dogo Argentino standard.

Raised for Stability and Confidence

Milcayac puppies are raised in a structured environment where they receive early exposure to people, daily activity, and normal household stimulation. Early development plays a critical role in shaping confident and stable adult dogs.
During their early weeks, puppies experience:
• daily handling
• exposure to normal environmental sounds
• interaction with people
• introduction to basic structure and routine
This foundation helps ensure that our puppies grow into confident companions, capable working dogs, and balanced family guardians.

Placement and Puppy Selection

At Milcayac Dogos, puppies are placed with families based on temperament, lifestyle, and experience.
Rather than buyers simply choosing a puppy based on appearance, we carefully evaluate each puppy’s personality and working potential in order to place them in the most suitable home.
This approach allows us to maintain the integrity of the breed while ensuring each dog is matched with the right owner.

Hunting and Working Ability

The Dogo Argentino was originally developed as a big game hunting dog, and preserving the working ability of the breed remains important to us.
Many of the dogs in our program come from working and hunting lines in Argentina. These dogs possess the drive, courage, and endurance that made the breed famous among hunters.
For experienced owners and hunters interested in a working partner, we occasionally have dogs suited for:

• wild boar hunting
• protection sports
• working dog activities
• advanced training programs

The Dogo Argentino is a powerful athlete and thrives in homes that provide structure, leadership, and meaningful activity.

Young Prospects and Started Dogs

In addition to puppies, we sometimes offer young prospects and started dogs through our Young Prospect Page.
These dogs are typically older puppies or young adults that have remained with us longer for evaluation and development. Before being offered, they may already be:

• fully health screened
• BAER tested
• structurally evaluated
• introduced to training
• evaluated in the field

Some young dogs may also have early exposure to hunting environments or show preparation, making them excellent candidates for owners looking for a more developed dog.
For buyers interested in:
• show prospects
• working or hunting dogs
• young dogs already evaluated for temperament

We encourage you to visit our Young Prospect Page to see current availability or to plan for your selected young prospect.

Puppies for Homes in the United States

Milcayac Dogos regularly works with families throughout the United States and Canada. We are familiar with the logistics involved in transporting dogs internationally and can assist buyers with the process of safely bringing their puppy home.
Depending on the situation, puppies may be transported through:
• airport cargo services
• professional flight nanny services
• coordinated airport pickup
We work closely with buyers to ensure the process is clear and smooth.
